Proyecto: Ioagm [Chelsea]

This is one of five in a series of videos intended for separate single channel projections. The videos are observations of people moving their bodies through space in a constructed landscapes. The vantage point is consistently placed at a single point of view. As the subject's bodily movements are observed in slow motion video, the frame cuts to closer

Proyecto: Land

The pseudonymous name WangLiang has been mentioned in "Zhuang Zi" and "HuaiNanZi". As said in HuaiNanZi, Plankton does not know what to seek while WangLiang not knowing where to go. There is a dialogue between WangLiang and shadow in "Zhuang Zi". Shadow depends on the entity and WangLiang is shadow of shadow. WangLiang  in Land was born in 1911.
His ancestors came to Taipei (Taiwan) from Fujian(China). He built boats, planted vegetables and shouldered rice in Shezi Island. During
World War II, in the uniform of Japanese officer, he returned to Fujian, holding the gun but asking the Fujian family to run away and stay alive to have their own son. WangLiang's granddaughter went back to his land after he died many years. The old man planting vegetables does not own her grandfather's land but he invited her into his hut
built by a waste container to have tea.

Proyecto: Et Ignis Involvnes

This piece is inspired on the first vision of the prophet Ezechiel [Ezechiel 1:4] "et vidi et ecce ventus turbinis veniebat ab aquilone et nubes magna et ignis involvens et splendor in circuitu eius et de medio eius quasi species electri id est de medio ignis" "And I looked, and behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself; and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire". This piece was commissioned by Gulbenkian Foundation, and was composed in the composer's personal studio and at the University of Keele Electronic Music Studio. The audio part of his piece received the first prize at Metamorphoses 2006 Competition [Belgium]. The video part was made at the composer's personal studio.

Proyecto: Refluir Refluir

Was created by Altera Visual Music collective. Altera works in both motion [Visual Music] and still images [Sequential Art] in a way that makes one deeply significant to the other. We find inspiration in nature, and water is at the center of our artwork. Our conception comes from a comprehensive image library created over many years of field experimentation. We overlay randomness, selection and intended design. Our workflow starts from highly variable imagery: computer generated trimmed by random algorithmic or live capture of chaotic natural phenomena. The work presented here is part of a comprehensive project on water dynamics in estuarine environment in southeast Brazil. We developed a very dense multilayered audiovisual which individual frames have an aesthetical value by its own. Refluir is about water motion and it comprises three visual levels: the reflection [images from objects that are over the water], the refraction [from objects on the river bed] and the water surface [altered by the river bottom conformation]. technical dates: Music - José Santos Composition - Marcela Carvalho Conception - Daniel Carvalho
