Project: Around the Corner

I was inspired by Calvino’s Invisible Cities and it spurred me to rethink the approach of locative artwork. Each city in Calvino’s book resembles a real city or a mixture of some cities, and the entire framework of the book is structured within the dialogues between two protagonists. Its structure reminds me of how Calvino tells a story about location and space, and is similar to the modular structure in locative artworks. In Around the Corner, its boundary between the urban space and telematic space becomes indistinct. Spaces or cities are no longer defined by infrastructure but instead by thought-processes, actions and practices.

This project encounters maps and micro-narratives. The map constructs a documentation-like experience for the audience, yet it never gives them a full and realistic picture. In Around the Corner, the map does not function solely as a mark of presence; it is a shared hybrid space which brings users together.

The artwork adopts a modular structure. Each user’s viewed animation can be regarded as a module in a network, and the artwork’s structure resembles a celestial coordinate-like system. The audience enriches the artwork through its interactions and exploration of the connections among modules. While the network is indefinite and formless, different modules are inter-related andconnected through their forms and contents.

Project: Second Look
Es una serie de gráfica expandida con realidad aumentada y animación. El espectador tiene acceso a una tablet que le permite visualizar las impresiones a dos tintas en la pared de una manera distinta: al encuadrar la imagen en vez de observar la ilustración se despliega una animación que descubre un significado más amplio de la misma.
El tema principal de la serie son las noticias sobre actos violentos recurrentes en México y que son insensibilizados por los medios de difusión.

Este trabajo enfatiza las posibilidades de algunos medios que aún se encuentran sin excesivo control político (como internet, o el contenido generado por usuarios dispuestos a compartirlo) de acceder a distintas perspectivas y versiones sobre eventos que generalmente se difunden de manera parcial en otros medios como la televisión, el radio y los periódicos; y captura de manera sintetizada un fragmento abstracto de lo que, con la voluntad de aquel que quiere darle una "segunda mirada", se revela como el hecho violento que en realidad es.

Project: Widget art gallery

I s a mini 3-dimensional, single room gallery that fits into your pocket 'cause I've developed it for IPhone, IPod Touch and I Pad. Every month, directly on your mobile, The “WAG” hosts a solo digital art exhibition related to the dynamic site-specific contest. So, the Widget Art Gallery works both as a sort of kunsthall showing temporary exhibitions and as a permanent collections museum because conserves all the past exhibitions inside an online archive. Project: The Fourth Guest

Is a barometer adapted to measure the confidence of financial markets in Euro Bond market. The app, measures "financial pressure" or spread between the interest of the different europeans countries public debt. 4th Guest name responds to the emergence of financial power in European politics during this european bond crisis. That is, the entry of a fourth power - anonymous and unknown - in the traditional collective bargaining between government, unions and employers. With that, the installation reflects on the ongoing transformation of politics in a financialized society.

Project: TimelapMe

TimelapMe es una plataforma Web diseñada para que lleves un registro de fotografías digitales de tu rostro y con la que posteriormente podrás crear videos que muestren la evolución de tu cara a lo largo de los periodos de tiempo que elijas y usando el método de time-lapse.

TimelapMe es un instrumento de autoconocimiento, montado en la Web y enfocado de manera opuesta a la mayoría de las aplicaciones de la red cuya intención básica es la de mostrarnos frente a los demás en vez de a nosotros mismos.

Me interesa que en un futuro artistas, sociólogos, antropólogos o cualquier persona interesada en registros de evolución de rostros usen esta base de imágenes/videos como material para creación e investigación. Imagino poder evidenciar rostros que históricamente compartan alegrías, problemas económicos o sociales, etc.
