Nacho Sacaluga & Fernando Ávila Project: La noche del mundo More than 40 years after the end of its last military dictatorship (1976-1983), a discovery has been made in the north of Argentina, in the province of Tucuman: the human remains of people who disappeared during those years are starting to emerge. La noche del mundo focuses on Pozo de Vargas, a clandestine common grave used for an unknown period of time, where more than 70 people were thrown, some of them even alive. The emergence of these human remains is promoting changes not only in justice issues but also in matters related to Human Rights and Historical Memory. La noche del mundo descends to the deepest part of the grave to rescue, through their relatives' voices, the stories of those people that have remained buried there for decades. tag: film |

Manuel Pérez Barcelona. Spain Project: Metamorphosis Metamorphosis is a story of an irreversible change seen through the eyes of one of many invisible citizens: Laia. From her individual experiences, we will follow the process of Guanyem Barcelona (Barcelona En Comú) from the public presentation before the citizens in June 2014, to the victory in the municipal elections of 24-M 2015. This documentary wants to portray the will of this group of citizens to articulate a space of confluence of social movements, neighborhood and political actors, aiming to the conquest of municipal power. With this clear premise, the film opens various debates and issues. What leads us to become involved politically and emotionally with the change? What do we give up to make this possible? How to reconcile participation in this and other citizen movements with our day to day? And to top it all, How to work against the rules of a system that we barely manage to free ourselves from? tag: film |
