Kimuak is a program of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government, through the Basque Etxepare Institute, managed by the Basque Film Library (Filmoteca Vasca), whose purpose is to promote and distribute Basque short films. It was created in 1998 and in these 20 editions has promoted more than 140 works that have reached all corners of the world. Among the titles in the catalog are several Goya Award winners and two Oscar finalists.

Ageda Kopla Taldea
St. Agatha's Eve is a deep-rooted Basque tradition in which people walk from house to house, accompanied by improvised verse-makers (bertsolaris), singing verses to the beating of long sticks. Building on this celebration, bertsolari Maialen Lujanbio composes a stark denunciation of gender violence. In verse after verse, she condemns the different manifestations of sexist violence and our inability to combat it. Based on these couplets, twenty young artists direct a collective-created piece, using different animation techniques.

In a small Basque village in 1925, a wake is being held for Inge, the young wife of Mikel Martikorena, who has died suddenly. Visited by all the major figures of the village, Martin, the patriarch of the family, is concerned only by the absence of his middle son Joanes, gone insane after studying theology and who wanders the hills preaching of the resurrection of the dead.
