The Network will simultaneously connect the major cities of Europe by satellite and via other broadcasting media: television, internet, cable, mobiles etc. The objective is to establish a permanent European Public Screens Network.

It will offer the most innovative and inclusive resources to administrations, corporations and society in order to drive the development of “smart cities” and the Knowledge Society.

It will lend visibility to the European Global Network

Dissemination of all Spanish and European initiatives proposals that can be broadcast by television, internet or mobile telephone. The contents foreseen will deal with a wide range of artistic, cultural, scientific, promotional outputs, as well as of spaces for the civic participation.

The screens. As well as offering a format for all the foreseen programme they will be windows through which Europeans will be able to see each other and communicate with one another in real time. We will be able to experience the sensation of being in all the participating cities at once. It is a single space called Europe.

The European Union and its 27members states are protagonists in an event with global reach where they will be able to show and promote what is most significant in the diverse European Cultures.

The city as a setting. The screens will display the most innovative and relevant cultural activities and scientific and technology projects from the different participating cities. They will offer interactive public spaces.

Programming and promotion of events promoting art, culture and science.
Calls. These will involve different forms of creativity, science and technological innovation. They will encourage collaboration between the different countries of the EU, especially the more innovative proposals to support their dissemination and promotion.

Screen work in progress. Development of live digital work among artists and other European groups.

“Europe through your eyes” Call. Project involving all Europeans through video cameras, photos and mobiles for the creation of a large-scale database of our cities’ souls. It will demonstrate the evolution of our most precious places. We will be able to construct a Wikipedia of images.

Spain and its Presidency of the EU. In terms of our major values we aim to highlight the attitudes and efforts of a society committed to optimising excellence by placing Spain’s Art, Science and Digital Culture at the vanguard of innovative initiatives. It will help to maximise the visibility of the Programme of the Presidency.

The European Union and its 27 member states will be involved in an event that will have repercussions at a global level and will be able to demonstrate and promote the most important aspects of its diverse European culture.

European Citizenship and the Construction of Europe. To deepen the concept of European Citizenship driven by the flow of information and communication between all sectors of society. Representation of a common democratic space with shared values and ideas, without internal borders, metropolitan and digital, caring with equal opportunities for all those that contribute to the development of a knowledge society and digital culture where art, science, technology and innovation merge.

Network of Creative Cities. Enhanced reality and videogames within the process of inclusion and education, culture and innovative creativity.

Promotions. All sponsors and collaborating organisations and institutions will be displayed.
