Project: Proyecto Cosmos
We propose a complex mechanism of action art and intermediate result of the interaction between elements in independent start: Artists neophyte, say ex-combatants from arcades', a collection of classic video-game 8x8 architecture and a video installation in the exhibition space capable of giving, to relate these in a common context (cosmos) and recreate the imagery of a 16 bit predecessor of complex 3D recreations.

The fundamental basis of our short film is to convey the vast culture and history of Alcantara with a powerful and attractive aesthetics. Proyecto: SCAN
SCAN is a sculptural video installation that is brought to life through performance. The single channel video by the same name was created from the live footage shot from the subjective point-of-view from within a tunnel-shaped space carved out of multiple layers of black screen mesh. The video traces the journey of a person passing through a hypothetical scanning device of human consciousness as he enters into "mind space." Immersion has been an important keyword in the circles of media artists working with installation. Carole Kim's installations have less to do with a desire to attain an "augmented reality" or a "virtual reality" than a hybrid space in which both illusory and actual merge together in an other worldly environment. The black mesh becomes a matrix to hold the floating gesture: sewn mono filament, drawn trails of glue, planes of a tonal range of netting. To move through and experience this interstitial projection space might be just one way of comprehending space in a slightly different way than we are used to encountering, allowing us to observe and contemplate the unexpected.
This project was initiated and produced by the Pasadena Arts Council for the 2011 AxS Art + Science Festival and funded in part by the Irvine Foundation and an ARC grant from the Durfee Foundation.

This video begins with a text of "Fragments of A Lover's Discourse" by Roland Barthes. We have a girl with camera in hand recording everything going for her emotionally has a loving bond. The girl is my niece, so it is a kind of approach to a self-portrait, as this six year old girl comes from my own context. The video consists of two parts. In the first, after a series of conditions given by me, they are only to record and count all the objects in his room for her to pose an emotional relationship and that, so in the first part is she who saves. The second part consists of a fixed plane where the girl picks up a particular passage from the book of Barthes (the exile of the imaginary) and reads it. All recorded in his room instead, where the girl is herself. Although initially the action may seem superficial, as the girl speaks of her toys, beneath these interests lies the event of the truth of the subject-child, because it is an excuse to project their self emocional.Hablando parents, the death of his grandmother ... Is seeking to reopen the subject's significant relationship with the objects and thus subvert and corrupt place with a significant fracture usually when we deal with a text semiology.

Project: Phase Shift
The videos in this series were inspired by the early phase shift music of Steve Reich. In Reich’s early compositions he played simple repeated motifs that slowly went out of phase with one another. The musical interest came from playing off the predictability of the motif, against the unusual sonic textures created over time. My first video (One Again) was created analogously setting two colors (a disk inside of a square), each of which cycles through all the colors in the spectrum, against each other as they slowly go out of phase. They come back into phase after roughly 15 minutes at which point the piece will seamlessly loop. Although in other pieces from this series, the shapes, arrangements of shapes, and color patterns become more complex, at the basic level the generative system remains the same. They are all similar in their systematic structure, but differ in their formal appearance.

Besides the four sides of the square containing the arms of the cross, was also considered and the intersection point of these arms, which is the center square and the circle circumscribed on it, what is the big turning point of fantasy. Video Maybe the most paradigmatic work of the synesthetic group is the video This is Art, in which what I call synesthetic de- dramatization reveals itself in all its provocative and disconcerting potential and final ironic. The video records a performance that, in a kind of speculating game, is a display of a representation or the unraveling of representational strategies. Three members of the group remain hooded and hand-tied against a wall. It is here that the essential key of the synesthetic work can be found, given that it conveys a kind of ironic reflection about the representational mechanisms, As it dramatizes/represents an execution it puts forward simulation and it de- dramatizes all the semantic weight of the work discovering the fictitious trait of every representation.

Project: Letters
Letters links the worlds of visual art with that of writing through the shared visual nature of the written symbol and the drawn mark. As the letters are stamped on the page to form words, they are also used to create the chiaroscuro of an image. While the meaning of these words creates an image in the mind of the viewer, the symbols that represent the words build a visual image on the page. It is a simultaneously verbal and visual self portrait, which uses the meaning of adjectives to describe an inner emotional state and the letters that represent these adjectives to visually represent physical appearance.
