Sara Malinarich España / Chile http://www.intact01.net/es/archives/1112/langswitch_lang/es Project: Just in case Tuvo lugar en cuatro diferentes centros de arte simultáneamente.

Georgie Roxby Smith Melbourne. Australia www.georgieroxbysmith.ning.com Project: Hyperdentity From now on humankind will have to act in two worlds at once” [Marie Louise Angerer, The Making of …Desire, Digital] As a digital generation we seek instant gratification through constant communication across a multitude of platforms. The social networks of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other virtual worlds all provide outlets for us to reinvent the self through the screen. These networks are innately rich in social currency, and where there is social currency simultaneously there is a high value placed on identity and persona, resulting in a desire to create the perfect fantasised self. In the multilayered material space of the cyberworld our ‘avatars’ concurrently hide and reveal aspects of the inner. All it takes to disappear is a mouse click and we are left with an identity crisis of digital proportions. tag: 2D & 3D computer animation |

Jihoon Yoo Chicago. USA http://www.jihoonyoo.com/#Rehearsal-1-2 Project: Rehearsal #1-2 My works
are about the sense of isolation and alienation experienced by the
individual in modern society. I am constantly trying to define my own
identity as a human within a technological and bureaucratic landscape
by making documentation of virtual media performance and virtual
sculpture. I believe I do this to make myself present in this society,
one in which humans are depersonalized and corporations are treated
like human beings.
Visualizations of reflections are one of the most important themes in my work. Surfaces are highly reflective or metallic, and spaces are collapsing and cubistic.Reflection, distortion and disorder create ambiguity, and paradoxically the sense of emotional reality that I need and seek. tag: 2D & 3D computer animation |

Marte Kiessling Berlin. Germany www.martemarte.de Project: Ghosts in the Park Does it exist, the monster
under the bed, the bogeyman in the closet, the "Wolpertinger" in the
Bavarian mountains, the dragon from midieval times, the Harpy from
Greek mythology or Grandma's ghost who howls in the basement?
And what do old statues do during the foggy night? Animated mythical creatures float through the park. Static drawings turn into animation into drawing. Strange nightly landscapes make space for ghosts. Statues become alive ... A film, which deals with the inbetween space between mysticism and phantasy, a little bit creepy, a little funny. And somehow a little bit like the drooling monster under the bed which kept us awake as a child ... tag: 2D & 3D computer animation |
