Project: Valledeloscaidos.org

The project questions the topography where are located many of the mass graves of the Spanish State.

Project: Untitled

This interactive composition combines digital video, music and sound effects, animation, and interactivity to explore the many connections between movement and depth. The piece re-contextualizes the physical act of juggling amongst established and emerging digital media types to create a juxtaposition of old and new, analogue and digital, organic and artificial, intellectual and spiritual. The piece also provides viewers an opportunity to participate in a critical dialogue directly with the makers.

Drouhin Reynald

Project: GridFlow

The GridFlow website aggregates images of items whose RSS flow is recorded in a mosaic arrangement. Anyone may add the flow(s) of their choice to feed the grid. The project thus displays a slice of time with no beginning and no end, similar to a rhizome, revealing the mood of the moment (zeitgeist) throught accumulation or repetition of key events in current web news. The fresco permanently undergoes waves of flow updates, creating an undertow and a perpetual reprocessing of the grid. The latter moves, seeming to come to life… formulating an infinite ribbon of images unrolling over the length of the wall. The present moment of the mosaic immediately disintegrates: a permanent « carpe diem », essentially ephemerial owing to swiftness in appearence and disappearence of the images. At any given point it is possible to generate a large archive, capture a shot of the grid as a way of crystalizing the entire mosaic, freezing it between two moments in time.

Project: Abecedarium

Listen inward. To create own, intimate alphabet. How to translate oneself and one inner self to the listener, viewer? How to translate inner self to oneself? It seems like we are trying to answer this questions even more today than we had the need in the past, in life and in art. In the project the sounds of cracking bones are used instead of or better in correspondence with the letters of the international alphabet. Each letter has an assigned sound. It translates whichever text into a sound of bones. The letters loose their meaning and consequently words loose their meaning and sentences and paragraphs and so on...The language is deconstructed and the meaning is lost in translation. Letters become abstract and incomprehensible. Taking this path gives us freedom to reinterpret the one thing, so well known, the language of the words as we know them. Words that offend, love, make as happy or sad, which are painful or full of joy... What we gain is the space in-between. The bone language can be our inner language and thus has no boundaries; it is the language of the abstract and thus of freedom. We can listen to our thoughts and ideas in a new way. We can reinterpret knowledge already gained, books already read. It might be closer, it might be deeper, and it might be nothing at all. We might feel the closeness of death, its taste and its sound. Listen.
