Girls on the net// in mir­ro­ring oneself and one’s body in ano­ther’s body, self-se­duc­tion is thus an act of love in which the fe­mi­ni­ne se­du­ces the fe­mi­ni­ne. Pla­to­nic finds ob­ses­si­ve, nur­tu­ring then ad­dic­ting: this is a story about the un­de­fined com­ple­xi­ties of fri­endship between women. Featuring Elena Feijoo, Hanna Owens, Leanne Miller, Beyoncé Knowles, and some (un)willing guy whose name neither of us can remember.

Project: There's only this - all else is unreal

"There's only this – all else is unreal" it's a video-art that shows a group of images retrieved from a mechanism which produces hydrogen in the water. This process creates several particles which produce different scenarios and environments. From this point many compositions, colors and shapes, whose appearance obeys only to this chemical process's randomness. It is in this chemistry that everything develops and, although it seems like a strange world, it is the one that creates and that is physically present. Outside of this world, everything that is constructed is metaphorical, abstract, subjective and maybe even unreal. But, by looking into this infinite particles territory, this world might seem even more unreal and transport us to other metaphorical worlds which are not part of the dimension of chemistry, but to one which belong to poetry.

Project: America

America, a term originally denoting all of the New World, is also a waive of the "old world" and an urge to escape from it. It isn´t a finished story nor a designated, demarcated territory. It roams between dialogues that denounce certain realms, search for others, get lost in it and have the will to build new ones.

The realms are not defined, their cartography is as abstract as the characters that build it. While some search for their own America, others lose it, some claim it, and some would simply disbelief it.

Project: Transmission ring

Transmission ring explores overlooked moments in city environments, reclaiming potentially missed signals within our ‘noise’-filled environments. Acknowledging and embracing the unique interactions that take place between movement/ vision and sound/ vibration, this film occurs between the signals, objects and bodies that are located amongst city spheres.

Viscerally connecting us to a cityscape we are perhaps unaware of, the images of this film travel through and amongst flesh, mechanics, communicative signals and ideals of beauty. Whilst the sounds, sourced from electronic, electro-optical & electromechanical devices such as radio towers, power stations, telegraph wires, neon lights, microwaves and mobile phones, reference the electromagnetic spectra of our cities.

Transmission ring is part of an audiovisual collaboration between two Australian artists based abroad. London based artist Katrina Stamatopoulos and Vancouver based artist Alexandra Spence navigate notions of geographical identity coinciding with a globalized existence. It is part of an ongoing project that explores the delicately complicated link between sound and the moving image.
