Project: The same horizon repeated at every moment of the walk
The video is based on the pitch phenomena, a perceptual property that
allows the ordering of sounds on a frequency-related scale. Composition
is made of four frames, in which the moving figure's head determines
the pitch on the scale of each frame, from higher to lower, represented
by simple lines. This aleatoric quartet reveals a specific approach,
where some primary elements of a composed work's realization are left
to the determination of its performer. The line that represents the
border - the horizon (which symbolizes both the line where the earth
and the sea appears to meet the sky and the limit or extent of human
knowledge, understanding, or experience) constantly changes its
position. Throughout the history there were lots of concepts of
movement, from body language through various kinds of dance to floating
above the ground like levitation. But, in fact, movement itself is a
simple feature and the basic purpose of it is to get from one point to
another. There is nothing more important than this in the movement idea
and all other concepts are just cultural and intellectual associations
or just a play. Building on this simple principle, all we can do is to
treat the body as the driving force for a simple starting point. Body
can move it and thereby the point can be displaced to the other
locations. In this case the point is a unique conveyor: it carries the
sound. When all the points start to move, sound tends to interfere and
become difficult to endure.

Project: Life of Dreams
Featuring
footage shot in Iran and the U.S., "Life of Dreams" is a window to an
inner journey of longing, searching and release, through a narrative
woven with the poetry of Iranian poet Sohrab Sepehri.Through a poetic
dialogue, the work explores the complexities of a subconscious
deliberation on how and if one can achieve the goal of forward
movement, the possibility of change, and the hope to ultimately reach a
place of peace.

Project: Ritual of the Fall
A ritual in which birds are portrayed as magical beings. The audio and
movement depict a hybrid of Kabuki and the aviary world. Ritual of the
Fall continues my fascination with Japanese theater with its attachment
to the supernatural; enchantment and all things strange.

Project: Rapture of the Petals
A hidden world…a rustle of activity…the life of the Insect. In the
night things are born, hatch and grow into magnificent beings, soaring
over the moon. At the end of their sojourn a Queen lady/insect emerges.
Her figure was inspired by the long legged supernatural ghost figure in
Japanese lore - "Taka Onna". Rapture of the Petals continues my
fascination with Noh and Japanese theater with their attachment to the
supernatural; enchantment and all things strange.
