GEOMETRIKARAOKE
Oscar Lopez Rocha Born in Mexico City, 1979. He studied in "Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas" of "Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México", the Design and Visual Communication degree, specialized in Multimedia (1998-2003). Since 2003 to present he has working in cultural television channels and animation companies for publicity. This project was based on the synesthesia phenomenon, it means how perception and interconnection between our five senses interact respect to external factors, for example, to see sounds, to hear shapes, to smell colors etc. In this case music acts as the external factor. This project follow the "karaoke" principle, lyrics appearing on screen while music is playing, instead of these, lyrics were changed for geometrical bodies appearing to the rhythm of music. The purpose was to represent sounds with graphics to create tridimensional compositions in real random daily scenes captured in digital video with hand-held camera. Suggesting the fact imagining nonexisting things can be a casual practice. |
