Alysse Stepanian Project: MemoryoftheUniverseSyria Planum: For Water for O As more humans and other animals are displaced due to climate change and drought, petropolitical wars will be overshadowed by urgent needs such as access to fresh water. Syria Planum: For Water for Oil" is the first edition of #MemoryoftheUniverse, a work of speculative fiction combined with current real-life global events. This work covers difficult intersectional social and political issues in a posthuman world. Some subjects explored are the Anthropocene, petropolitical and water wars, nationalism, colonialism, politics and ethics in science and technology, drones and “militainment”, terrorism, refugees, and exploitation of humans and other animals. Historically, the bodies and reproductive organs of women and cows have been subjugated in patriarchal societies. The protagonist in this work is half-human, half-cow. She wanders the desolate Martian landscape, including the Syria Planum, and bears witness to the destructive behavior of humans. As the world looks away from crimes that are unmet with restitution, their aftermaths resonate in the dark recesses of our minds and metaphorically, continue to live in the memory of the universe, eternally recurring, until we find ways to change our consciousness and current state of affairs. tag: animation |

Simón García-Miñaúr San Francisco. USA Project: An unexpected visit An unexpected visit is a short melodramatic and comic video piece about the yearning for a vanishing love. In a split screen format, the protagonist's world is shattered by an encounter with a former lover. The visible chroma key character embodies the invisible, it is what is not supposed to be seen; but its emotional insight is universal. In the end, we all see what we want to see and create particular realities we feel comfortable living in. tag: animation |

Richard Jochum Project: Crossword Project
The Crossword Project is a 4 minute video animation featuring an animated crossword puzzle with questions, which cannot be answered easily. The Crossword Project, which was created in Cinema 4D (2015), arose from the artist's fascination with crossword puzzles and the knowledge generated through them, which tends to be prepackaged and memorable. The Crossword Project goes beyond that and will be based on questions that make us pause and think. tag: animation |

Terry Trickett London. United Kingdom Project: CITIRAMA In Citirama, Terry Trickett has produced a series of animations which take flight into a realm of fantasy, where the rhythms of music join the patterns of architecture to celebrate the qualities of an exceptional building - the 'cheesegrater' in the City of London. Trickett sees Citirama as an experimental performance which reveals a new type of relationship between music and architecture - no longer frozen but, instead, constantly moving and inventive. tag: animation |
